The colour shows some premature development and the bouquet backs up with fresh tilled earth, cedar, cigarbox, tobacco aromas. There is a thick chewiness to the palate, which smacks of overripe grapes. There’s a sweetness early on the palate then a wave of very drying and slightly gritty tannins.
