Mount Eyre had great insight that fiano would be suitable for the Hunter Valley, planting the first vineyard in the area. How right they were, with the variety holding onto its acidity and retaining a wonderful freshness. This early-picked style, with fresh lime zest and green apple notes, shows just how lovely it can be. However, what makes this wine particularly appealing is the subtle hint of wattle and lemon myrtle that dance over the fruit. The palate is crisp, though it still has pleasing weight and texture, and an inherent wet-stone character adds to its cleansing nature.

Fiano is a wonderfully versatile wine that pairs perfectly with so many foods! Fiano is a flavorsome varietal that shows citrus, stone fruits and nutty characters. It sits in the centre of both body and sweetness profiles, so is almost universally liked by wine drinkers. We recommend seafood, chicken and creamy pasta dishes. A summer picnic, an antipasto platter and a crisp glass of fiano is also a delightful combination.
