Deep and bright red-purple colour, bold and youthful; there a slight smoky reductive note at first sniff overlying black cherry to blackberry fruit, the trademark earthy note of the region and abundant fine-grained but drying tannins throughout the palate and finish. A tad more punchy than the Holman, and has plenty of cellaring potential, although it also can be enjoyed young.

Old-vine fruit has been used to make this ripe and gently warming shiraz. It has a falsetto of redcurrant and glacé cherry, plus some richer base notes of vanilla and raspberry coulis. The mid-palate flavours are delicious, bright and vibrant, with framing tannins on the close.
