A vintage of considerable extract and heft, yet uncanny precision. The going is good! Medium bodied, savoury and bright. Perhaps a bit too bright, with tangy acidity towing flavours of red and dark cherry, suede and varnish to good length.

Food matching with Hunter Shiraz
Hunter Shiraz is more European in character than shiraz from other parts of Australia. Being less heavy and more savoury, allows broader possibilities for food pairings. Roasted meats of all types, game and vintage cheeses all go wonderfully with our shirazes. When allowed to age in bottle a few years, these smooth, rich reds also accompany dark chocolates very well.
